1 / 3Redpoint Bristol
📍 Bristol, South West
Indoor climbing centre with bouldering walls, top rope, and Crazy Climb — a playground with spinning holds, spider webs, and balancing towers. Structured courses include Little Monkeys (ages 4–6) and Rock Monkeys for older kids.
I was visiting Bristol over a long weekend and decided to book a last minute adults intro session. I've never done any form of climbing before so felt quite nervous but I needn't have worried and had a brilliant time. On arrival the staff got me set up with the shoes that I needed and even a spare padlock for the lockers. Sam, our instructor for the afternoon, was excellent. He was incredibly calm, patient and encouraging; exactly the vibe that was needed. He explained everything really comprehensively and offered enough tips to be helpful but also allowed space for problem solving in our own time, too. It was an ideal introduction to top rope climbing and bouldering and I'm excited to try it some more. Thank you!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 4 and up who want structured climbing progression. Patient, qualified instructors make first visits accessible for total beginners. The Crazy Climb zone entertains younger children independently.

“Brilliant place for climbers of all abilities. Some really good high walls with a good selection of top rope, and lead options. They have been increasing the size of there bolder sections so there is a lot more choice there too. The Bar / Cafe area is really well presented with a good choice of food and drink. Good climbing videos on the big screen too. Can highly recommend to experienced and novice climbers alike!”

“Cheers to Lewis and Josie who instructed me & partner on the top rope beginner course! Over two days we've built so much confidence on belaying and climbing. Also I don't regularly have the pizzas here, as I usually boulder at their sister Flashpoint, but Redpoint's vegan pizzas seem better than Flashpoint's?? Idk how that works 😂”

“My daughter did a taster session at Redpoint in October and has been asking to go back ever since! Unfortunately today's experience wasn't as enjoyable. The session was fully booked with 6 children to 1 instructor and unfortunately this felt like too many. I totally appreciate it's half term and therefore busy but my daughter only got 3 chances to climb today, no more than 10 minutes of actual climbing during the 1 hour 30 minute session. Most of the time was spent standing around waiting compared to the previous session which had fewer children and therefore a lot more climbing time. A disappointing experience today.”
