Sale Area Model Engineering Society (Walton Park Trains)
đ Sale, North West
Quarter-mile model railway in Walton Park, Sale, running both steam and electric trains on weekends. Operated by a 40-strong volunteer club since 1979 with up to five trains running simultaneously.
Excellent short little ride at 30p or thereabouts for one loop on a sunday. Run by lovely volunteers. Electric and steam trains.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for train-enthusiast children of any age and families looking for a genuinely affordable, old-fashioned outing. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable, and the authenticity of real steam trains makes this stand out from commercial alternatives. Toddlers and grandparents enjoy it equally.
