1 / 2Sandy Lane Playground
📍 Richmond, Greater London
Triangular playground in Richmond with three distinct zones — babies, toddlers, and school-age — featuring climbing frames, slides, and imaginative play equipment on a landscaped grass site with a picnic area.
Great playground for toddlers. Good swings for toddlers - not tiny. Lovely selection of things for imaginative play. 2 good climbing frames with several slides - not overly challenging for a slightly more cautious 2.5 yo.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers and young children who benefit from age-zoned equipment that matches their ability. The three distinct zones remove the anxiety of older kids dominating equipment younger ones are using. Spacious enough for a full picnic outing alongside the nature trails.

“It's great that there is zoning - a zone for babies, a zone for toddlers, a zone for schoolchildren. Everything is in good condition. Lots of space. There is a small area for a picnic on the grass.”

Overview
Sandy Lane Playground divides its triangular footprint into separate zones for babies, toddlers, and school-age children, each with appropriately sized equipment. Climbing frames include multiple slide options not overly challenging for cautious two-year-olds. A landscaped grass picnic area sits on the eastern side of the site. Nearby nature trails extend the outing. Litter is a recurring issue noted by regular visitors.
