Great playground! It’s close to home and very easy to get to β€” there’s a public transport stop nearby. You can also arrive by bike from one side, which is very convenient. There are plenty of seating areas for parents and a large sandbox for kids to enjoy. A big plus is that there are toilets available at the playground, which is really great. Highly recommended for families!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 2–10 who want playground time combined with easy access to Richmond Park's wider grounds. The sandpit keeps younger children occupied for well over an hour. Arrive prepared for sun exposure β€” shade trees are minimal. Bring a mat for grassy seating and a spare set of clothes for sandpit players.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Pack a spare set of clothes β€” the water pump sandpit guarantees wet and sandy children
⏰Bring sun protection; the open playground has very little natural shade on clear days
🎟️Toilets are right at the entrance β€” no need to search inside the park
πŸš—Pembroke Lodge cafe is a uphill walk inside the park for post-play food

β€œWe came here on 27 April. The playground is amazing. It is clean and well maintained. Basically any child can stay here for the whole day. There is a sand pit with working pump. There is very little shaded area. There are swings, climbing frame, seesaw, slides. I would recommend a mat here on the grassy area. There are public toilets right at the entrance.”

β€œThat’s fantastic playground located at the entrance to the Richmond park. I love the atmosphere, it is quiet and relaxing place overlooking Richmond hill. Different machines for kids to play with. There is also sandpit with the water so kids can built sand castles. The toilets are just next to the playground which is very convenient.”
