We went to see the Mastermind, what a great film! The cinema is not our local but it turned out to be very accessible by bus. We loved the place, great cafe/bar, very comfortable seats in the auditorium, great image and sound. I regret not having been before! We will definitely go again. πŸ‘

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with older children and teenagers who appreciate a premium local cinema rather than a multiplex. The intimate screening rooms and quality sound make popular films feel like an event. Book in advance β€” sought-after Friday evening showings sell out.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Book in advance β€” popular Friday evening screenings sell out regularly
⏰Screen 5 is to the right past the bar β€” signage is sparse so allow extra time to locate it
🎟️Toilets are on the second floor and not well signposted β€” check before the film starts
πŸš—Cycle parking is available on-site; the nearest car parking is off-site

β€œSuper small cinema where you get looked after well by the staff. They have a great Billboard. We saw Song Sung Blue - superb. There is a small bar and coffee shop with an excellent selection.”

β€œA really lovely local cinema!! We went here for a 17.40 showing of Housemaid. It was showing on screen 5 which is a small cosy room. The smallest room I’ve ever seen a screening, it was nice and cosy, like being at home. This place is great, it was packed and it felt like we were going to a show in the west end which was so nice. Things to note - - signage is rather poor. A lot of people including us could not find Screen 5. So if you are looking for screen 5 as you come in the cinema it’s on the right hand side past the bar - kiosk and bar. Although it says kiosk and the other signs say bar you can buy tickets at all - toilets second floor but again signs are lacking. People getting lost again 🀣 - tickets - we turned up thinking there would be no problem getting a ticket but only 3 tickets left. It’s clearly a busy time on a Friday so worth booking ahead. It does cost extra if you book online as there’s a booking fee. So lovely to have this as our local cinema, it has a great vibe and they serve wine and g and t!”

β€œNice cinema, comfortable seats and the screens are equipped with laser projectors and Dolby 7.1 sound. However, it does seem very accident prone: I have been to two screenings where the programme has simply failed to start, plus one where there was sound but no picture and one where the aspect ratio was incorrect so the subtitles were unreadable. Would it be possible for a member of staff to pop in at the start of the film and check that everything is OK? Otherwise a member of the audience has to run downstairs and ask the staff to sort it out!”
