1 / 3Victoria Park Children's Play Area
📍 Scotland
Fenced playground in Victoria Park, Edinburgh, with climbing frames, slides, swings, and soft bark ground cover. Enclosed perimeter gives parents clear sightlines and containment for adventurous toddlers.
Absolutely love this park! The climbing frame is enclosed so feels a bit more safe for wee ones (mines is 3 years old and adventurous). Mind your timings with young children though cos when the local primary school bell goes, the park fills with older kids quickly, who run riot with no consideration for the younger kids. I don't have an issue with older kids play, it's just an observation. The wee coffee van is amazing but I've no idea what it's schedule is so it's a hit or miss if it's there. I do wish there were public toilets cos it's easy to spend hours at this park.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 2–8 who want a secure, well-equipped playground in a park setting. The enclosed gate is the key feature for families with toddlers who bolt. Arrive before the local primary school finishes on weekdays to avoid the playground filling with older children. No toilets on site — use facilities before arriving.

“Great play park for the kids. Lots of different bits of equipment for them to explore and play on. The park feels safe with a fence enclosing it and soft bark covering the ground. There is also benches and tables for the adults to sit at. The little retro van selling ice creams and snacks is located just at the side of the park as an added bonus”

“Lovely sunny day always makes for a good visit, lovely range of equipment and nice to have a place to grab a coffee and a treat for the kids! Although if you go on a weekday... or when it's not summer, I doubt the coffee van will be there.”

“Lovely wee park, well maintained and with a good range of play equipment over and above the normal favourites. Both my kids (8 & 4) loved it and didn't want to leave.”
