1 / 2Ashton Park
📍 Sale, North West
Neighbourhood park in Sale with a children's play area, football pitch, bowling greens, and tennis court. Maintained by an active volunteer group. Clean public toilets on site. Wheelchair-accessible picnic tables available.
Ashton Park is a lovely park. There is a group of volunteers called "friends of Ashton Park" who work very hard to keep it clean and update it. Just recently, overgrown trees were cut right back to allow more light into the younger section of the park and prevent the birds from poohing all over the swings. There is an updated tennis court and basketball court. New benches and picnic table just installed, picnic table is wheelchair friendly. It's a great place for everyone to use and easily accessible.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a reliable, multi-use local park without travelling far. The volunteer upkeep keeps it noticeably cleaner than parks without active community groups. Families seeking large adventure playgrounds or nature trails will find the facilities modest, and for a dependable neighbourhood outing it delivers.

“Can't say I used many of the features and facilities as I was there to watch a kids' footie match. That said, seems like a lovely space. Parking in the adjacent road means it's easy to get to by car. Nearby corner shop for emergency essentials or spontaneous picnicking! Plenty of benches dotted around. Dog-friendly.”
