1 / 3Hanwell Zoo
π London, Greater London
Hanwell Zoo sits within Brent Lodge Park and houses flamingos, meerkats, armadillos, alpacas, porcupines, lovebirds, and other smaller species. Free parking is available near the church, a five-minute walk from the entrance.
Parking was easy but the car park does get very busy. We got a bit lost in the park before we found it. Friendly welcome, reasonable price to get it and you can go out and in as many times as you like until last entry on the same day. Its a bit worn around the edges but does what it says has some animals, some you can see and some you can't as they are hiding. Great mini day out if you dont want to schlep it to London zoo, and want more then hounslow urban farm. The kids enjoyed seeing all the animals. There is a small playground onsite. There is also a playground outside the zoo and a man with some bouncy castles (extra charge for bouncing as not part of the zoo) I would recommend as it is a nice place to kill a few hours.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with young children wanting a relaxed, small-scale zoo without the queues of major attractions. The lovebird enclosure near the entrance and flamingo area are consistent highlights. Visit in summer for the best outdoor animal access. Free nearby parking keeps the overall day cost low.

βQuaint little zoo with a variety of small animals and birds. While they don't have any of the large animals at most big zoos they have a unique collection of very interesting smaller, less common animals and birds in their collection. Definitely worth a visit. Has a nice little Cafe and playground for kids too.β

βGreat local zoo, small but tons of fun. Amazing flamingos, amadillos, alpacas and best of all, the lovebirds just near the entrance. The cutest things I've ever seen. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and super passionate. Great value. And free parking up near the church 5 mins walk awayβ

βVisited Hanwell Zoo over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. It wasnβt very busy, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable visit. Itβs a smaller zoo with mostly small animals, but everything is relatively well kept. It could use a bit more maintenance in some areas, but overall the atmosphere is really nice. There are clear paths and signs throughout, and a childrenβs play area as well. The animal selection includes various species of birds (like parrots and flamingos), small animals such as rabbits, plus goats, llamas, and monkeys. Thereβs also a cafΓ© on site, though it was unfortunately closed during our visit. Itβs a lovely place for both adults and kids, and the prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit if youβre in the area.β

Overview
Formerly known as Bunny Park, the zoo has operated as a community attraction for decades. A yew maze with 2,000 trees sits within the grounds, along with a cafe, gift shop, and a playground with additional paid activities outside the zoo boundary. Visitors can exit and re-enter on the same day until last entry. Staff are described as knowledgeable and passionate about their animals. The venue is worn in places and well-kept where it counts. Animals are housed indoors during winter cold.
