📍 Stockport, North West
25m main pool and smaller children's pool, sauna, steam room, new changing village with lockers, and disabled parking bays. Parking is severely sparse relative to lesson volumes — walking or cycling is strongly recommended.
Pool is great, but unfortunately there is nowhere near enough parking for the number of people coming by car - not helped by what looks like nearby residents seemingly using the car park to park their cars (pop by first thing in the morning before the centre is even open, and you'll be amazed how many cars are in the car park!). Many evenings you'll struggle to park, and with very little alternative parking nearby, it can be a major problem. Parking related road rage has even happened! Hopefully the opening of the new centre in Marple late 2026 will help reduce demand a little but if you're lucky enough to be able to walk, I strongly suggest you do!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who can walk or cycle to the venue and have children in swimming lessons during weekday morning slots. The pool quality is well regarded and the smaller children's pool is a practical option for young swimmers.

Overview
Life Leisure Romiley runs a 25m main pool for lane and general swimming plus a smaller pool suited to younger children. Sauna and steam rooms are available. A new changing village with lockers has been installed. Swimming lesson scheduling packs multiple classes in parallel with no gap between sessions, which creates recurring parking, changing, and seating access failures for families with children in lessons. The gym floor has a single squat rack and sparse free-weight space.
