Haven’t managed to take my five year old here yet, but just walked past it and it looks like a great new playground. You can now walk straight through from the new tube station rather than having to walk all the way round as Google maps suggests meaning that it’s only a minutes walk from the station. You can also now walk through to the shops, restaurants and bars and they’ve opened up the front of the old power station with benches and seats down by the river. The playground was completely empty when I walked past in on a Tuesday lunchtime.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

The right choice for families with children aged 5 and up visiting the Battersea Power Station area who want structured, exciting play equipment unlike anything found in a typical municipal park. Families with babies or toddlers will find sparse age-appropriate equipment. Arrive on a weekday lunchtime for a noticeably quieter experience.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Walk directly from the tube station β€” it is one minute away via the through-route, shorter than maps suggest
⏰Visit on weekday lunchtimes for the quietest conditions
🎟️Aimed at children 5 and up; babies and toddlers have sparse options here
πŸš—No dogs, smoking, glass, or alcohol permitted inside the enclosed space

β€œA brilliant little playground set right outside Battersea power station. It's fully enclosed. It's set between some amazing buildings, with seats around the outside for adults. No dogs allowed.. No smoking allowed. No glass allowed No alcoholic drinks allowed. It's very popular and gets very busy, especially at the weekends.”

β€œSo cool! My daughter loved it. The slides and climbing structures were unlike any I’ve seen before. Lots of kids playing, but no waiting because there is so much to do.”

β€œNice playground - new (which helps!), few things for the littler ones but mainly for bigger kids (5+ ish). Almost missed this as we came out of Battersea Power Station!”

Overview

Prospect Place Playground was designed by LDA Design and sits immediately adjacent to Battersea Power Station, offering visually striking climbing structures, slides, and seating areas for adults around the perimeter. The fully enclosed space has clear house rules and is directly accessible from the new tube station via a one-minute walk β€” shorter than Google Maps suggests. Weekends get very busy due to proximity to the shopping centre.
