1 / 2Sandwell park
π West Bromwich, West Midlands
Sandwell Valley Country Park spans 660 acres near West Bromwich with an adventure playground, two distinct farms including a Victorian walled garden, Priory Woods trails, and extensive open space. Chargeable on-site parking.
I recently explored Sandwell Valley Country Park in West Bromwich, and it is a massive, 660-acre green oasis that offers much more than your typical urban park. The experience is anchored by two distinct farms: the historic Sandwell Park Farm, with its restored Victorian walled gardens and rare breed animals, and the more interactive Forge Mill Farm, where kids can get hands-on with farming life. Beyond the farmyards, the park is a paradise for activity, featuring a sprawling adventure playground, a high ropes course, and the popular Minerβs Trail for mountain biking. Whether youβre birdwatching at the RSPB nature reserve, walking the scenic trails around Forge Mill Lake, or enjoying a local treat at the Courtyard Kitchen, itβs a versatile, budget-friendly destination that perfectly balances Black Country heritage with diverse outdoor fun.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families prepared to spend at least half a day β the 660-acre scale means rushing defeats the purpose. The two farms suit different interests: the Victorian farm is educational and historic, the open fields and woodland are for active exploration.

βI think this is the same as Sandwell Valley park or part of it. We had a walk from one my aunt and uncles house and the park was quite busy as there was an event going on and weather was decent. Kids loved it anyway and itβs a good walk around the park.β
