Such a wonderful venue, with the nicest staff! I came to see a charity concert for Ukraine, and was absolutely charmed by how warm and welcoming the space was. Definitely will be back! Ps You can't feel any rocking once you are onboard - I think it's pretty safe to visit even for people with sea sickness :)

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with older children and teens who appreciate unusual cultural venues and intimate live performance. The floating setting is genuinely memorable without gimmick — the converted hold is a proper theatre space, not a novelty. Cinema screenings paired with live music offer something unavailable at any standard cinema.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡No noticeable rocking motion once aboard — sea-sensitivity is not an issue for this docked venue
Hot apple drinks and freshly made popcorn are available from the bar
🎟️The venue hosts charity events and community performances — check the programme beyond film screenings
🚗Seating is intimate at 100 seats — book in advance for popular events

Absolutely lovely experience at the Theatreship. A space for community, arts, banging pop corns and the most delicious hot apple and brandy. Captain Nat and the staff in addition, are friendly and spontaneous. Places like these should be supported.

Thoroughly enjoyed Riley Baugus’s gig at Theatreship. The Theatreship is a unique venue to see folk music. I couldn’t have seen Riley Baugus on a better stage. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed making the evening a memorable one.

Came here for a late mystery film and it was amazing! The venue itself is super cute and feels very cozy. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The film was amazing, and not one I would’ve put on myself. Overall a great cozy night!
