Independent cinema with multiple screens showing mainstream and alternative films in intimate rooms. Some screens have sofa seating. Pram access available. Screen 5 has structural beams that partially obstruct views.

A great atmosphere each visit and feel what a cinema should feel like, it makes you want to stick around as the decor is great! Arriving with booked tickets was a little confusing as we had to ask the staff at the counter, arrived at the screen with no staff, which we then were approached to have are tickets checked, no big issue The seats were nice and comfy, I feel like every seat has a decent view of the screen however as the lights dimmed, one spot light was left on, it could be due to health and safety Felt cozy and was a great experience, but was just lacking staff at the screening 7.5/10

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for older children and adults who want a quiet, intimate cinema experience with arthouse programming. The respectful audience is a genuine asset for families who find multiplexes noisy. Not suitable for anyone with mobility needs or who cannot manage stairs.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Avoid Screen 5 — ceiling beams obstruct views for taller viewers and from certain seat positions
Membership significantly reduces per-ticket cost if you visit more than twice a month
🎟️Disabled toilet access requires stairs — the venue is not fully accessible
🚗Confirm ticket collection process with staff on arrival to avoid confusion at the screen

A cozy cinema with a mix of new mainstream movies and more alternative ones. They don't have giant screens but for the size of the rooms, the screen is adequate. The good thing is that the public seems to respects others and the film so they and don't make a lot of noise. I just think the price for non-members would need to be the same as members to give 5 stars. As it stands, near 17 pounds for a ticket is a bit expensive in my opinion. Overall, It's a good cinema if you are local.

A venue that is inaccessible for those with accessibility needs. I visited Greenwich Picturehouse with my partner for a drink and I am glad it was only a drink because there was NO ACCESS TO A DISABLED TOILET that was signposted. I am on crutches at the moment and unable to tackle stairs, which is only a minor, temporary disabling experience compared to those some people live with. It is very good that we didn’t spend lots of money on a film because coming out from a screen and realising there was no safe toilet access for me would have been extremely worrying and disappointing. When I spoke to a member of staff, they were very unhelpful, just looking helplessly at me. NO ACCESS TO A DISABLED TOILET THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE VENUE should be signposted on the door, so people with accessibility needs, short of long term, know they are not catered for at this venue.

Obstructed view and concussion for premium price: Skip anything in screen 5. We paid £16 each to be on a sofa. Cannot see a good chunk of the screen (sibtitles - forget it). There is a wood beam just above our chair that sits more forward than the headrest. When I've sat up really tall in my seat to see above the people in front I've hit my head on that twice I went to the bar at 2120. It was closed apparently. All the bar staff were quite obliviously stood next to the closed bar in fancy dress having their pictures and next to the wicked posters...

Overview

Greenwich Picturehouse operates several small screening rooms in a building with a mix of traditional and sofa seating. Programming covers new mainstream releases alongside arthouse and alternative titles. The audience culture is notably quieter than multiplex cinemas. Screen 5 has a low ceiling beam directly above some seats that obstructs the image for taller viewers. Disabled toilet facilities are only accessible via stairs — a significant barrier.
