I stumbled upon this park on one of my cycle trekking route via Google maps with various connecting paths you are sure to have a great day out walking or generally being in nature.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for local families with children who want a free outdoor space with both playground and sports facilities. The play area is well-kept relative to the rest of the park. Spring visits offer the best combination of cleanliness and scenery. Families with very young children should supervise carefully given litter and dog activity in shared areas.

â„šī¸ What to Know Before You Go

💡Spring visits offer cherry blossom and typically cleaner conditions before summer crowds
⏰Bring your own refreshments — no cafe or amenity facilities on site
đŸŽŸī¸The children's play area is kept tidier than the wider park — head there directly
🚗Seating is very sparse — bring a blanket for longer visits

“I came across this park whilst walking my dog along the Fallowfield Loop. It's a smallish park but quite pleasant to wander around. It has a decent playground for kids where dogs are not allowed, a sports court and field. I imagine it would be quite pleasant to visit in the warmer weather. There's plenty of seating although that seems to be where the litter gathers. Seems quite popular with local dog walkers and now is a good time to visit while the park is pretty much empty. I would go again.”

“Well good for kids and a bit enjoyment for adults, can find a basketball court and also football ground as well. Have couple of swings and a play area for kids where they can enjoy and also good for joggers. Also have seats where adults and family members can sit and rest.”

“A lack of bins and too many thoughtless people make this beautiful park a disappointment. The council do keep it maintained but within days of decent weather it's in a disgusting state again. The children's play area is kept tidy and looked after and definitely worth a visit if you've got little ones but keep your eye open for broken glass and dog mess that owners fail to pick up. I would like to have been able to give this more than 2 stars but until something is done, I just don't feel I can.”

Overview

The park features a dedicated children's play area with swings and climbing equipment, a basketball court, football pitch, and open green space. Free entry and pram-accessible paths throughout. Litter accumulates quickly during warm weather with council maintenance efforts — the play area itself is kept tidier than surrounding spaces. Cherry blossom in spring is noted by multiple reviewers as a seasonal highlight. Dog walkers share the space with families.
