1 / 3Mayfield Park
đ Manchester, North West
Manchester's newest park features a challenging adventure playground with six slides woven around the daylighted River Medlock, 142 trees, wildflower planting, large lawns, and pushchair-accessible paths throughout. Free entry.
Awesome park, never seen a park like this ever in my life. The whole area is really nice and good for a walk around. There's snacks and ice creams and coffees or tea available from the different shacks or ice cream van. Climbing frame is huge and really good for keeping the kids fit climbing to the top. Nice river runs through although it's not advised to go for a paddle you can sit and have a picnic next to it
đ Family Action Verdict
An outstanding park for families with children who can climb independently â the adventure playground is genuinely unlike anything else in Manchester. The river setting and landscaping make longer visits with picnics very enjoyable.

âMayfield Park is a lovely spot â the playing area is clean, well-equipped, and perfect for kids, while the surrounding lawns and trees offer a peaceful, lush green view. Plenty of benches, shade, and open space for games or picnics. Great for families and a relaxing afternoon outdoors.â

âFabulous new park in Manchester. Lovely planting and landscaping. Lots of nods to the architectural heritage of the area. Full of families relaxing on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Coffee, ice cream & toilets at one end. And the playground looks terrific. Definitely worth seeking out...â

âGreat park for your adventurous children or children who can climb independently. It is hard to fit in the climbing frames with your children but not impossible. There is a bit of a walk around the park that is accessible by everyone and is pushchair/wheel chair friendly.â
