Visited here on a midweek trip to London in early July 2023 and we ended up coming 3 times as it was so chill and enjoyable. The water pumps were hilarious seeing random kids coming together like they were on a construction site. Lovely setting, and we enjoyed Regents Park in general.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children up to 12 who want varied, interactive play in a central London park setting. The water pumps are the standout feature β€” children naturally group around them regardless of age. Weekday visits are noticeably quieter than good-weather weekends. Pack a spare set of clothes and a bag for sandy shoes.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

⏰Weekday visits are significantly quieter than weekend good-weather days

β€œVery good and nice playground for kids. I was in Regent’s Park with kids and were looking for a playground nearby and come a cross this one so the kids liked it and the place was clean and tidy.”

β€œGood, BUT: 1) SAND. If you come preparedβ€”great! But many families probably won’t be delighted to escort a little sand monster back to lodging on the Tube; 2) CROWDS. Because of its location, expect LOTS of people and families at most times of the day if the weather is good enough to be outside. Highlight is probably the unique climbing structures (pictured), although many kids will also love the water and sand activities (which were fully functional during our visit in mid May).”

Overview

Marylebone Green Playground sits in the southern section of Regent's Park and divides into three zones. The Traditional Zone covers swings and climbing frames; the Art Zone adds a spiralling concrete folly and rock-climbing wall; the Natural Zone features living willow tunnels and timber stilts with sand and water pumps. Toilets with baby change are on site. Sand travels home in clothes and shoes β€” pack accordingly.
