I recently visited ODEON Luxe Swiss Cottage, a cinema very close to my home, and I absolutely loved it. What impressed me the most was the comfort of the seats. Even though we chose the last row, the seats were incredibly comfortable—they reclined, were soft, and spacious. There was also a rotating table in front of us that we could adjust to our liking, creating the feeling of watching a movie at home on the couch. The screen was large and flat, and even though it was far away, it felt like watching a huge flat screen TV at home. I’ve been to other cinemas, like the one in Westfield, where the screens are even bigger, creating the illusion that everything is happening around you. But in ODEON Luxe, the seating comfort really stood out for me. Another thing I liked was the beautiful lighting near the entrance, which added to the overall atmosphere. Plus, the ticket price was very affordable—only £14, and my friend and I were able to get a discount, making it even better. There’s also a great option for a monthly subscription for just £20, which allows you to watch as many movies as you want at this cinema and in any other ODEON theater. It’s a perfect way to enjoy a break from the daily routine, whether you’re going alone, meeting a friend, or using it as a date idea. Highly recommend it!

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families watching standard 2D screenings who want comfortable seats and a relaxed pre-film environment. The reclining seats and spacious foyer work well for groups. Avoid 3D and IMAX formats based on recent technical feedback. The self-service food ordering adds friction — allow extra time or skip concessions to avoid missing the start.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Choose standard 2D screenings over 3D or IMAX for the most reliable experience
Allow extra time at the self-service food kiosks — the interface is not intuitive
🎟️Rear rows offer excellent picture and sound quality in standard screens
🚗Pram access is available throughout the building

Lovely cinema with lots of space in the foyer to have a coffee and chat pre-screening. However, the system used to get your coffee is ridiculously complex and irritating, not in line with the ‘luxe’ experience. By the time we eventually got served our coffees we’d wasted a lot of time. Not sure we’ll bother next time. The screens are great and chairs very comfortable.

Really nice cinema but the service on the front is weird. We were told to purchase our snacks at a self service machine that didn’t even list the products we were buying. You couldn’t even scan items, you had to manually find them. And the customer service person told us we had to use this and couldn’t use a human being. Otherwise the cinema is nice and clean. With nice screens.

Update: it has been a month since my official complaint on Odeon’s website and here. Despite the below acknowledging my complaint and giving the impression they are actioning remedies, nothing has been done. My partner who I went to see the film with also had negative review deleted multiple times. This company clearly does not care about its customers and want to give a false impression of taking responsibility Bought 2 tickets to see the Avatar Fire & Ash in 3D IMAX, along with 3D glasses. About 15minutes into the film, it suddenly malfunctioned with no picture or red/green picture (see photos) for about 10 minutes. The 3D film then played as 2D for the remainder of the 3.5hours film. No staff came out to explain, apologise at the time and all the staff disappeared when the film was finished. This is a complete shambles of customer experience and I have made a complaint and asked for a refund. Obviously anyone would know people pay the much higher price for the 3D IMAX tickets and glasses to see Avatar expecting to get what they paid for, but the experience was a complete disaster. Posting this complaint here to help ensure the corporates take action on my official complaint on their website - in the meantime a warning for all to avoid this place and just watch films on streaming in the comfort of your home

Overview

ODEON Luxe Swiss Cottage features reclining seats across its screens, with sound quality and picture praised even from rear rows. The foyer is notably large with seating areas for groups to gather before screenings. A self-service ordering system for food and drinks operates in the lobby — multiple reviewers describe it as counter-intuitive and slow for families with children. 3D and IMAX screenings have received recent complaints about picture quality.
