Budget-friendly cinema in Streatham with multiple screens, free parking, and pram access. Facilities are dated with worn seating in some screens, and staff are reliably friendly.

This theatre could and should be a real gem. Tickets are reasonably priced (popcorn is not but that's the case in all theatres, perhaps a pivot?), the exterior of the building is grand and impressive, the staff are friendly. There is always a good selection of films. Sadly it just needs to be maintained better. A lick of warm paint, change the filthy old carpets, and perhaps in the longer term the seats will need replacing to something more comfortable. The lighting in the public areas should be less harsh to create a better mood / environment. Fingers crossed that this one gets the care it deserves.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Families prioritising affordability and a local cinema option with parking will find this functional for mainstream family releases. Choose screens carefully when booking online β€” quality varies significantly across the building.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

⏰Arrive before lights down as screens may not be lit before showtime
🎟️Free parking on-site makes this the most practical Streatham cinema for families with young children

β€œIt's really really dated, most seats broken, maze to get around, although has accessibility options for most screens they often don't work. Some screens are incredibly close seats but others are excellent. Staff are indifferent. But a lot of screens, some better than others, good value with month pass, good location. Just needs some money spent on it”

β€œStaff are really friendly and polite. However the screen rooms aren't cleaned between screenings. As it was my first time there I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't up to the usual standard I see odeon at. (Or maybe that standard has slipped a lot as cinema is dying tbh), anyways there wasn't any leg room which as a 154cm person is never my problem. And they didn't put the screen on until 17:27, when the movie was scheduled for 17:30. That paired with the old nachos and popcorn littering the floor of the room made me panic that I was in the wrong screen or that it was out of use! Please properly clean up between screenings and turn on the screen a little earlier so it's not so dark and hard to navigate for those who arrive on time.”

β€œScreen 2 is pretty dire. The sound set-up is bad, with muddy audio and really poorly balanced sound. The screen is also sub-par. Genuinely could have a more enjoyable audio/video experience watching a movie at home on a laptop. Staff are great and building was clean and well looked after. But, I wouldn't recommend watching anything here that you actually want to see in a decent quality.”

Overview

ODEON Streatham offers multi-screen cinema with on-site cafe, free parking, and pram access. The building exterior is impressive and ticket prices are competitive. Interior maintenance is inconsistent β€” some screens are comfortable, others have broken seating and worn fittings. Screen 2 draws specific criticism for poor audio. Screens are not always cleaned between showings.
