Sand & Water Play, Brockwell Park
📍 London, Greater London
Free water play area in Brockwell Park with paddling pool and water pumps for young children. No sand with the name. Pumps are frequently out of service — weekday visits outside school holidays give the best experience.
Lovely place for a hot day and this year they add a paddling pool!!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with young children seeking free outdoor water play on warm weekdays during term time. Weekend and school holiday visits can be very crowded with a wide age range in a tight space. Check pump status before making a special trip — maintenance has been an ongoing issue for multiple visitors.

“Great free fun. Only negatives are during the school holidays the older kids can be a bit rough with the young ones. Nothing bad but just a wide age range in a small space. During the week outside of the holiday time it’s brilliant.”

“Has a lot of potential but not well maintened. Pumps never work and always shut. Better option to go to the one in elephant and castle via train.”

“Paddling pool is busy but nice. There’s no sand though (although it shows it on the map), so it’s not sand and water play - just water play”
