St John's Park was built in the late 1980s and located on the east side of the Isle of Dogs in Cubitt Town... The place itself has four different entrances/exits, had gone through a lot of change over the last thirty years or so, whereas it was once to be considered neglected, it has had its much needed renovation. Getting here via public transport is easy enough, taking London Buses, you'd need to stop at St John's Park (Stop L or K) using bus routes D7, 135 or the N550. You can also use the routes D6, D8 and 277 (N277) and take a short walk to here too. Alternatively, you can take the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Crossharbour to get to the park. Better than what it once was...

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Strong choice for families with children of any age who want a well-designed, fully gated playground where supervision is easy. The zip line and hill slide work for toddlers through to older primary-age children. The fully enclosed design with clear sightlines means parents can sit at the perimeter and see the full play area.

β€œLovely little park in an awesome part of town and easy to get to. The playground has been refurbished and I personally think it is great. The playground is primarily in one section and children can be seen in any part of the area with seating available all around. My kids didn’t get bored and had a go on everything. Best time to go to any park and playground is in the week around lunchtime as its not bursting with children and their parents. Not local to me but worth coming to!”

β€œThis playground is really nice. It is suitable for kids all ages. There is a big zip line, and it functions well. A big slide from a small hill is my son’s favourite. The children can climb around the hill and get to the top. It is all gated, spacious with very little hidden spots so it is easy for parents to supervise their children.”
