1 / 2Mudchute Park and Farm
π London, Greater London
Free working community farm in the Isle of Dogs with over 100 animals across 32 acres including donkeys, goats, rabbits, llamas, and horses. Families can buy feed on site and interact directly with most animals.
Underrated gem. Open and free to the public. Mudchute has a decent range of farm animals living their best lives. There's an area tucked in the corner nearby the cafeteria that sell animal feed. People are free to interact with the furry residents. Most animals are friendly, though I'd watch out for the llamas. Look at them the wrong way and you're on the list. There's a dedicated space just for humans to let their dogs off leash with plenty of water bowls that are always full. You can choose from a handful of trails to trek. All on easy mode, though I'd suggest footwear you don't mind getting muddy. The place is called Mudchute for a reason. The dog usually gets a hose down after a hiking session here. Dog joy rating: 7/10
π Family Action Verdict
An outstanding free option for families across all ages. Young children love the direct animal contact β feeding goats and petting donkeys. Older children enjoy exploring the full 32 acres. Wear old shoes; it gets muddy. Approach llamas with caution β they can be unpredictable with strangers.

βI love this farm more than I can express. I used to live very locally & it was my nearest green space - from the animals they have to the events they put on & the cafe, it's all amazing. There's such a variety of animals from birds to bunnies to horses - all of which have incredibly spacious enclosures. Even though I no longer live so close I make an effort to return as it is truly a wonderful day out for adults & children.β

βBeautiful farm in the big city π Lots of animals to see, they look happy and you can tell they're used to interacting with the public. You can touch them and feed them or just have a walk and look around.β
