St Mark's Children's Playground
📍 London, Greater London
Small, renovated playground designed for children aged 2–7, featuring wooden climbing structures, two slide sizes, and soft astroturf throughout. No swings — intentional design for toddler safety. Free entry.
Busy but relaxing good size area for children lots of seating for a fairly small area for adults. For lunch time was good spot to drink my home made hot chocolate and catch up with my messages. Do spot of revelation wellness training programme
🏆 Family Action Verdict
The top pick for families with children under 6 who want a low-risk, relaxed playground where toddlers can explore without adult intervention at every moment. The soft floor, no swings, and small enclosed footprint are all intentional safety features. Families with children over 7 will outgrow the equipment rapidly.

“A hidden gem. Often very quiet, I love that it doesn't have any swings so perfect for little ones who might otherwise wander into dangers way. Nice soft astro turf surrounding the play equipment too so no scraped knees!”

“Totally renewed in 2018, Saint Mark's is the ideal local small playground for young children. Soft safe flooring, wooden climbing structures and two sizes (small and smaller) of slides.”

“Brand new equipment in aug 2019. Lovely to see so much joy in the park. Even the astro turf brings happiness just by jumping on it”

Overview
St Mark's Children's Playground was fully renovated in 2018 with wooden climbing frames, a bouncy astroturf floor, and slides in two sizes — one scaled for toddlers, one for older children in the 2–7 range. The deliberate exclusion of swings removes a common hazard for pre-schoolers remains developing spatial awareness. The site is small, fenced, and often uncrowded, making independent toddler play genuinely low-stress for parents.
