1 / 2Walpole Sandpit Playground
📍 London, Greater London
Free outdoor playground in Walpole Park with dedicated toddler and older-child zones. Wooden equipment throughout, sand play areas, toilets nearby, and a cafe one minute away. Large grassy space for picnics and football.
Great playground, it has 2 areas which separate little kids and the older ones. My daughter loves to play with the sands (bring your own sandy toys and buckets and they can spend hours here)
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children across age groups who want a genuinely free outdoor session. The two-zone split lets older and younger siblings play safely without overlap. Bring your own sand toys and buckets — kids with them stay occupied far longer. Pack a change of clothes; everything gets sandy.

Overview
Walpole Sandpit Playground divides into two clearly marked zones — one for toddlers, one for older children — each fitted with wooden play equipment. The sand surface and digging areas draw kids back repeatedly. Pram access throughout. Toilets on site. A coffee shop sits one minute away, and the adjacent park has wide open grass for picnics and kick-abouts.
