1 / 2ODEON Richmond
π Richmond, Greater London
Multi-screen cinema in Richmond town centre with a historic Screen 1 auditorium offering good sound. Smaller screens on Red Lion Street are dated. Seating is widely described as uncomfortable across all screens.
I went to Odeon Richmond several times. Some chairs were not in good condition. It's an old building, an old cinema, so nothing much to expect. At least the screen and sounds were not bad. It took 15-20 minutes of promotion or movie trailers, before the real movie started. So no need to be on time there.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for older children and adults who want the character of a historic cinema at accessible prices. Avoid for films over 90 minutes β seating becomes genuinely uncomfortable for extended screenings. Screen 1 delivers the best experience in the building.

β3 stars as screen 1 is a fab nostalgic cinema with good sound. But, vintage or not, itβs now getting very shabby and some of the small screens on Red Lion Street have glaring exit signs or very small offset screens. Time for a refurb. Please.β

Overview
ODEON Richmond occupies an old building with a Screen 1 that retains the atmosphere of a traditional theatre auditorium with decent sound quality. Smaller screens on Red Lion Street have distracting exit signs and offset screen positions. Seating throughout is consistently described as uncomfortable, particularly for films over 90 minutes. Pre-film trailers run for up to 20 minutes before the main feature begins. Projection equipment on some screens is aging.
