1 / 2ODEON Richmond Studio
📍 Richmond, Greater London
Small screening rooms with an intimate atmosphere and a decent snack selection. Pram access available. Two Odeon cinemas operate in close proximity in Richmond — this one is on Red Lion Street, not Hill Street.
The Odeon Richmond Studio has smaller screens than its sister Cinema located on Hill Street. My first visit saw me ending up on the Hill Street location, only to be told that the tickets I had were for the Richmond Studio, which was on Red Lion Street. The two cinemas however are only a stone throw away, so not a huge issue. I would advise anyone buying tickets online to check the location of the Cinema. The foyer is quite small and screen No 7 was on first impression much smaller than what I was used to. Nevertheless, once the movie - The Housemaid- started, it didn’t spoil our enjoyment. We had a positive experience and would go again. The ticket prices are also cheaper than at their other branches.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with younger children who prioritise an affordable, local cinema trip over a premium viewing experience. Confirm your ticket clearly states Red Lion Street and not Hill Street before travelling, as both cinemas share the Richmond name.

“Nice small cinema. Fairly decent snack selection. Be advised that because that the screens are not big but a decent size for the small rooms.”

“Very small, old fashioned cinema. May be dated, but still a good experience and fun to go to. The seats and small and set closely together, sometimes if you have someone taller sitting in front you'll get the screen blocked. Clean and easily accessible toilets. But everything here is small - small screens, small halls, fewer seating...”

“Calling this a cinema is like calling a Golf a Lamborghini. My screen at home is bigger. Side seats come with a fire exit view and a twisted neck. Additional bonus audio from the room next door. How they classify as cinema and get a licence is a mystery to me.”

Overview
ODEON Richmond Studio is a compact traditional cinema on Red Lion Street with small screening rooms and an intimate seating layout. The snack selection is reasonable and pram access is available. Screens are significantly smaller than modern multiplex cinemas. Seats are closely spaced, and those on the sides have restricted views. Sound bleed from adjacent screens can occur. Two Odeon venues operate within a short walk of each other in Richmond.
