1 / 3Chesterton Rd Playground
📍 Manchester, North West
Enclosed playground with toddler swings, climbing frame, and seesaw set in a secluded tree-lined location. Flat access throughout suits pushchairs. Maintenance has been inconsistent — check conditions on arrival.
I visited this park many years ago thirty there used to be a water fountain near the entrance as i remember and i love the fact it was hidden away ..i used to play marbles and i had a collection in a tub . I was even a pupil at the sandilands school before we moved away . Im just here for nostalgia i never had the chance to grow up here. And coming back home is strange .
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers and pre-schoolers who want a quiet, enclosed alternative to busy city parks. The secluded setting is genuinely pleasant on a dry day. Check the swing surfaces before use and scan for dog mess on the path — these have been recurring issues. A short visit rather than a half-day destination.

“Great little park. Very secluded by lovely trees. Kids liked it. Playing equipment is a bit old and not much choice but great find as only 10 minutes walk from my house.”

“Nice enclosed park, there's swings for toddlers a climbing frame and seesaw. There's also bunches to sit on. The only bad thing is that there was dog poo everywhere! Also the surface around the swings had I think moss on and was very slippery! Easy access for disabled people, no hills it's all flat ground. Hope the helps!”

Overview
Chesterton Rd Playground is an enclosed play area featuring toddler swings, a climbing frame, a seesaw, and parent benches, tucked into a quiet residential setting framed by trees. The flat, step-free layout makes it accessible for pushchairs. Equipment is older and the surrounding park has seen maintenance lapses including dog mess and slippery swing surfaces from moss build-up. Recent visitor accounts suggest some improvement over earlier low points.
