1 / 3Cinema @ St John's
📍 Croydon, Greater London
Cinema @ St John's screens family films in a restored church in Croydon. All films include subtitles, the screen is large-format, and the venue runs a licensed bar and hot food alongside screenings.
Saturday was the first night for the Cinema at St John’s. It was an amazing experience in a beautiful building with a welcoming friendly team of helpers. You don’t expect to find a proper licensed bar, hot dogs and a variety of delicious sweets and snacks in such a place. The screen is huge and the sound is as good as any cinema that I have been to and they had subtitles. I will definitely be there next time on 19th October for Bohemian Rhapsody.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 5 and above who want a cinema experience with genuine character. The subtitles benefit children who are learning to read, and the relaxed volunteer-run atmosphere is more forgiving than multiplex venues. The historic building itself is a talking point for children curious about architecture or church spaces.
