Stepney City Farm
π London, Greater London
A free 4.5-acre working farm in Tower Hamlets open Tuesday to Sunday, with sheep, pigs, goats, donkeys, chickens, ducks, geese, ferrets, guinea pigs, and rabbits to feed.
Amazing day volunteering here today with work colleagues. We helped out doing odd jobs like mucking out, weeding and fixing some broken netting. The volunteers were awesome and we were given history of the place, a bit of health and safety and then we got to work. The cafe had some sandwiches and drinks for us and we left just as it was getting dark. Nice to have been able to take the day out and spend time outside and with farm animals.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who want hands-on animal contact in a genuine working farm setting rather than a sanitised attraction. The size surprises first-time visitors β allow two to three hours. Saturday visits add the farmers market dimension, making it a worthwhile destination for parents as well as children.

βPleasantly surprised by the experience. Iβve lived in and around the area forever but never once set foot upon the farm which has been on my doorstep. Shout out to Victoria for showing us aroundπ. A nice selection of animals and things to do ranging from allotments, animal petting, feeding etc. A great day out with the family or even as a corporate day out. Would recommend.β

βBrilliant little farm. Has some pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, a couple of donkeys, and a cat. Farm elderflower soda was refreshing, and cherry chocolate brownie is a must have if you're looking for a sweet treat! The farmers market stalls also look to have some good meat, cheese, bread and other products.β

Overview
Stepney City Farm is a full working farm of 4.5 acres in Tower Hamlets β larger than most visitors expect. Goats and donkeys can be fed with coins on site. The Rural Arts Centre houses craftspeople at work. A Saturday farmers market brings local meat, bread, cheese, and produce. Vegetable growing areas and allotments are open to explore. The cafe produces its own elderflower soda; the cherry chocolate brownie is specifically called out by reviewers.
