1 / 2Wandle Park
📍 Croydon, Greater London
Wandle Park in Croydon combines a children's playground, skate zone, tennis and basketball courts, outdoor fitness equipment, and walking paths along the River Wandle — all free to enter.
I go to Wandle park often and have been going for years. First with my children and now for casual walks either alone or with my dog. It’s a lovely little park - dog friendly and with a nice little play area for the kiddies. There’s also a skate area and tennis courts with a ping pong table which is really cool.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
A well-rounded free park for active families with children of any age. The combination of playground, skate ramps, and multiple courts means different ages can find something to do at the same time. Bring sports gear — the tennis and basketball courts are open access. Dog owners will find it welcoming, and dogs must stay on leads throughout.

“Beautiful park with children's play area, bandstand and café. Plenty of benches to sit down on and take in the views of the park. Great for dog-walking too.”

“It is a good all around park there is a designated area for kids , you have a great skateboard area , a tennis court and basketball court. There is Wandle river running through the park . In general the park is pretty spacious you could have a picnic but unfortunately there no inclosure for letting a dog off the lead”

“Decent park for runners and anyone wanting to get in a laid back walk. Not the biggest of parks, but has a play areas for kids and a couple areas to workout (pull ups, dips, etc). It has a good area for tennis and basketball. Would recommend for the locals. It could do with some work though 🤷🏽♂️”

Overview
The park runs along the River Wandle and includes a bandstand, playground, skate area, tennis courts, basketball court, ping pong table, and a cafe. Outdoor fitness stations are scattered through the grounds. Dog-friendly throughout with good walking paths. Space is ample for picnics. The park could do with maintenance work in some areas, and there is no off-lead dog enclosure.
